A BOOK FOR THOSE SEEKING THE TRUTH ABOUT JESUS:
YESHUA: The Hebrew Factor
WRITTEN BY YACOV RAMBSEL
A REVIEW BY BOB ULRICH

For the last 2,000 years the Jewish people have rejected Jesus as their Messiah.  In their minds, the New Testament has none of the credibility that the Torah, the Psalms, and the Prophets do.  How I wish each of them could be locked in a room for an hour to read the new book I've just finished by Yacov Rambsel entitled, "Yeshua: The Hebrew Factor."  He is the pastor of a Messianic congregation in San Antonio, Texas.

Rambsel has entered a world in this writing that few of us ever get to experience.  Some of our readers may be familiar with the "Torah codes" found in the first five books of the Old Testament.  J.R. and Gary wrote about these new revelations in their ground break work "The Mystery of the Menorah and the Hebrew Alphabet."  It explores a concept that scholars refer to as "equidistant letter sequences" or ELS for short.  Let me explain.

God chose the Hebrew language to be the language in which He reveals His original thought to us.  In a day and age where the inerrancy of Scripture is scoffed at, God has chosen to answer by providing us with His Divine signature.

ELS became a phenomenon worth studying seriously in 1988 when an obscure paper was published by three men from the Jerusalem College of Technology and the Hebrew University.  The authors, mathematical statisticians, discovered words encoded into the Hebrew texts that could not have been placed there by accident – and certainly not by human engineering.

Their concept has given even more credibility in a follow up study that boggles the imagination.  This time, instead of looking for pairs of related words in Genesis, they looked for pairs of words that were time-related from a period long after the Torah has been composed.  They took the names of the 34 most prominent Jewish men from a standard reference book, "The Encyclopedia of Great Men in Israel," from the ninth to the nineteenth centuries and then compute it with the man's birth or death date.  There was no way Moses, the writer of the Torah, could have known at the time the Torah was composed, of the existence of these men – and certainly not the dates of their births or deaths.  Yet all of the names of these men were found encoded in the Torah!  Would you believe a second test found the names of the next 32 most prominent men encoded as well?  I hope you're as fascinated at these possibilities as I am.

Looking for other coded messages, Rambsel found some startling passages.  He writes about some of these encoded passages in His book.  For example, Isaiah 53:10 says, "Yet it pleased the Lord to bruise Him; He has put Him to brief; when thou shalt make His soul an offering for sin, He shall see His seed, He shall prolong His days and the pleasure of the Lord shall prosper in His hand."

The Hebrew word in the text for "He shall prolong" (ya'arik), is a good example.  Starting with the second yod, and counting ever twentieth letter in the text, spells Yeshua shmi, which means "Yeshua is my name!"  Just a coincidence?  I don't think so!

You can imagine my excitement when Yacov Rambsel sent us a copy of his book on this subject.  I can tell you quite honestly that I am much more excited over his work than even the Torah revelations.  Yacov has a different agenda.  He is out to prove to Jewish people that not only did God write the Bible, but that He has secreted the name of His son throughout the pages of both the Old and New Testaments.

Zechariah 9:9 says "Rejoice greatly O daughter of Zion, shout O daughter of Jerusalem: behold the King cometh unto thee: He is just and having salvation, lowly and riding upon an ass."

Starting with the Hebrew word for rejoice, gi'li, you will find from the first yod, at 22 letter intervals, the name Yeshua!  It gets better.

Micah 5:2 is a familiar verse: "But thou Bethlehem Ephratah, though thou be little among the thousands of Judah, yet out of thee shall He come forth unto me that is to be ruler in Israel, whose goings forth have been of old, from everlasting."

Starting from the fourth yod, counting every 49th letter spells, once again, Yeshua – an appropriate location, I'd say!

There is so much material in the book, that I simply can't cover it all.  You'll find the name of Jesus (Hebrew Yeshua) encoded in the Psalm 22, the crucifixion chapter.  You'll find His name encoded in the very first verse of Genesis.  You'll be stunned to see the name of Jerusalem and Messiah encoded in the Abrahamic covenant in Genesis 12!  Amazingly, hidden phrases like "the blood of Yeshua," "I will save," "Lord Yeshua," and Yeshua the Prince," are found throughout the Scripture.  I'll let the Word of God prove its own concluding paragraph:

"Who hath ascended up into heaven or descended?  Who hath gathered the wind in His fists?  Who hath bound the waters in a garment? Who hath established all the ends of the Earth? What is His name, and what is His son's name, if thou canst tell?"
(Proverbs 30:4)

What is His son's name?  Staring with the first yod, counting every 22nd letter spells – you guessed it – Yeshua shai, which means "Yeshua, the Gift."  What's left to say? Get the book – you won't regret it!  Buy twenty copes and give it to every Jewish friend you know.  It may just be the type of work that can change his life for all eternity.  It is such a powerful commentary on our Savior and His infinite wisdom.  Paul said it best in Romans 11:33: "O the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and the knowledge of God!  How unsearchable are His judgements, and His ways past finding out!"
